Geonium Chip

The core of our research activities is the Geonium Chip, a pioneering ion (Penning) trap technology conceived and developed at the University of Sussex. The Geonium Chip has many applications. We are focused in Quantum Technology developing an ultra sensitive sensor of microwave radiation; in Mass Spectrometry developing a scalable Fourier Transform-Ion Cyclotron Resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectrometer; and in Atomic Physics and the physics of strongly correlated electrons.
